Compass Mortgages are an independent mortgage broker covering the South East.

How did Compass Mortgages become interested in Turning Tides?

“Every day here at Compass Mortgages we help people to buy their dream home. In a matter of weeks from identifying the house of their dreams our clients are in possession of the keys. Contrast that with the less fortunate amongst us who have no home, no roof over their head and no prospect of owning a property. For Compass it’s a paradox and one we recognise. Therefore, in our own way, along with the help from our clients and supporters, we will do a little to alleviate the misery for those people throughout 2020. By supporting Turning Tides, a local charity to us, we are able to see the work that is being done and the difference that our support makes.” – Dean Haysom, Director.

How have they supported our charity?

Dean and the team at Compass Mortgages have been involved in many fundraising events from attending quiz nights, the 24 Peak Challenge, a leg wax and more. They have been taking part in our events and their own for over 6 years!

Compass Mortgages chose Turning Tides as their Charity Partner for 2020. Throughout the year, Compass Mortgages will be introducing the charity to all their clients, and for any who wish to make a donation to us on completion of their mortgage, Compass Mortgages will match fund this.

In addition to this, the team took part in Woolly Hat Day and the 2.6 Challenge and Dean is busy preparing for a cycle ride across Costa Rica in November! We wish him all the best and thank his team for getting involved and showing the community they care about our clients.

What have Compass Mortgages gained from their involvement with our charity?

“I first became interested in Turning Tides around 6-7 years ago when Sue Stevens, then PR and Fundraising Manager at Worthing Churches Homeless Project (now rebranded as Turning Tides), brought along a gentleman who had been supported by the charity to an event to talk about his experience. For me, this was a truly humbling experience and I have followed the work of the charity since then.” – Dean Haysom, Director.
