MHA Carpenter Box
Award-winning firm of accountants and business advisers.
How did MHA Carpenter Box become interested in Turning Tides?
“The firm has supported Turning Tides through ad hoc fundraising activities over a number of years. We chose Turning Tides as one of our 10-year celebration beneficiaries because they were a local charity which fitted our giving criteria of supporting the community. The risk of homelessness is something many of us can relate to. Plus, for many, it’s something that only needs a trigger: divorce, losing a job, depression.” – Paul Allwright, Senior Manager.
How have they supported our charity?
MHA Carpenter Box have supported our charity for a number of years. We were thrilled to be selected as one their chosen charities – celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Carpenter Box Charitable Foundation. Our charity received £2,500 to support the work that we do locally. Additionally, MHA Carpenter Box have sponsored a number of our events, including Go the Distance in 2019, with two staff members taking part, and most recently they supported our COVID-19 Emergency Appeal with a generous donation.
Alongside financial support, the firm also regularly coordinate collections from their staff and promote our fundraising events internally. In 2019, a member of staff ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon for us, raising a fantastic amount of sponsorship! Employees have also taken part in our SleepOut events.
What have MHA Carpenter Box gained from their involvement with our charity?
“I personally have worked with the Fundraising team at Turning Tides over the last eight years and have always been amazed at their energy and passion for helping; it’s been quite humbling. It has made me think about the person I am and want to be, and to be grateful for what I have, as there have been times in my life when things could have spiralled out of control. I was lucky.” – Paul Allwright, Senior Manager.
