By joining us as a Trustee, you’ll be part of a dedicated team striving to make a real difference in addressing one of society’s most pressing issues. We are also seeking a Chair of Trustees to lead our Board and help drive our strategic direction.

About You

Are you passionate about creating lasting change in your community? Do you bring governance experience or expertise in a key area such as finance, law, social care, or strategic planning? Whether you’re an experienced Trustee or looking for your first opportunity to contribute to a Board, we’d love to hear from you.

For the Chair of Trustees, we are seeking someone with proven leadership experience and the ability to inspire and guide the Board of Trustees, ensuring good governance and accountability across all areas of the Organisation.

You will be someone who:

  1. Shares our commitment to tackling homelessness.
  2. Brings knowledge or experience in governance, compliance, or organisational management.
  3. Has strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  4. Is committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of our work.

What We’re Looking For

As a Trustee, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of Turning Tides. Specific responsibilities include:

  1. Contributing to the development of our strategic direction and objectives.
  2. Ensuring compliance with charity law and governance best practices.
  3. Providing oversight of our financial affairs and safeguarding our assets.
  4. Acting as an ambassador for Turning Tides in the local community.

For the Chair of Trustees, additional responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the Board to ensure effective governance and oversight.
  2. Supporting and appraising the Chief Executive.

We are particularly keen to hear from individuals with:

  1. Experience in governance or serving on boards.
  2. Knowledge of homelessness, social care, or community services.
  3. Expertise in areas such as finance, HR, legal, or fundraising.
  4. A commitment to inclusivity and diversity in leadership.
