👏 We love good news on a Wednesday! The UK go 👏 We love good news on a Wednesday! The UK government has today announced nearly £1 billion in new funding for councils to prevent and tackle homelessness, marking the largest-ever investment in this area. The funding will support initiatives like the Homelessness Prevention Grant, rough sleeping recovery programs, and services addressing substance abuse and housing support. This effort is part of a long-term strategy, including abolishing no-fault evictions, to address the housing crisis and end homelessness. We welcome the government’s commitment to turn the tide on homelessness with this funding. As a charity on the frontline, we see daily the urgent need for housing support and prevention services. To truly end homelessness, we must ensure these resources reach those in need, alongside long-term strategies addressing root causes like affordable housing and mental health support. We are ready to work with our local councils to turn this funding into lasting change. 🤝⭐️
