A huge thank you to @dentaidthedentalcharity for b A huge thank you to @dentaidthedentalcharity for bringing their mobile dental unit to Roffey Place! 🦷✨ Dentaid provides free dental treatment to people experiencing homelessness, ensuring that those who might otherwise struggle to access care can receive essential treatment. We’re incredibly grateful for their support - and as you can see, one of our clients is delighted with their brand-new smile! 😁 Though Dentaid is based in Southampton, their team made the journey to Horsham to visit us so we're particularly grateful.
This International Women's Day, let’s talk about This International Women's Day, let’s talk about the hidden crisis. Rough sleeping among women has risen by 20% in the past year* - and this is only the women who are visible. Women experiencing homelessness are more likely to remain out of sight, meaning statistics are simply not representative of the situation. Many walk all night, seek shelter in places open 24/7, sofa-surf or sleep in cars. Sometimes it can feel safer to enter or remain in abusive environments rather than face sleeping on the streets. Causes for homelessness among women are very varied, as for men, but recurring themes are domestic abuse, mental health and financial difficulties. At Turning Tides, we support women facing homelessness, providing safety, stability and the chance to rebuild their lives. After the success of our dog walk, we're excited t After the success of our dog walk, we're excited to announce the next fundraising event on our horizon - albeit slightly more challenging! - the Sussex Three Peaks on Saturday June 28th. 🏞‍🚶 It's the first time we've organised this event and we've recruited experienced mountain leaders to guide you along the 24 km route. Starting in Steyning, we will take in three iconic local peaks: Steepdown, Cissbury Ring, and Chanctonbury Ring. Walkers of all ages are invited to take part on this 7 to 8.5 hour hike - we'll stop for lunch and breaks along the way, offering opportunity to enjoy the beautiful view and hear first hand how your fundraising will help local people experiencing homelessness. 🌟 Sign up today!
